Key Design Features
1. Precision Roll Gap Control
We equipped this machine with a precision adjustment mechanism that allows you to set the roll gap from 0 to 1.2mm with 0.01mm accuracy. This fine control ensures you achieve exactly the electrode thickness required for your battery design.
2. Integrated Heating System
The upper and lower rollers feature integrated heating elements that can reach temperatures up to 200°C. For most electrode materials, we recommend operating between 60-80°C, though you can adjust based on your specific requirements. Heating improves electrode density and consistency during calendaring.
3. High-Performance Roller Construction
We manufactured the rollers from S136 steel with surface hardness ≥HRC55° and hardness layer thickness ≥10mm. Notably, the hardness decays less than 5% after heating at 200°C, ensuring long-term reliability even with frequent temperature cycling.
4. Glove Box Compatibility
We designed this machine specifically for both open-air and glove box operation. Before ordering, please verify that your glove box space accommodates the equipment dimensions (L550×W250×H390mm). The special motor design allows safe operation under argon gas.
5. Variable Speed Control
You can adjust the rolling speed up to 50mm/s via the control system, allowing you to optimize the calendaring process for different electrode materials and thicknesses.
6. Flexible Power Options
The machine accepts both AC220V/50Hz and AC110V/60Hz power supplies, and we can customize according to your regional requirements.

How the Rolling Press Process Works
Step 1: Material Preparation
First, you prepare your electrode sheet – either cathode or anode – after coating and drying. The electrode should be cut to fit within the 95mm effective roll width.
Step 2: Parameter Adjustment
Next, you set the desired roll gap using the precision adjustment mechanism. The 0.01mm adjustment precision allows you to fine-tune the final electrode thickness. If required, you also set the heating temperature, typically between 60-80°C for standard electrodes.
Step 3: Heating (Optional)
When using heat, the rollers warm up to your set temperature. The system maintains consistent temperature throughout the rolling process.
Step 4: Electrode Calendaring
You then feed the electrode between the rotating rollers. The machine compresses the electrode coating to the desired density and thickness as it passes through the Φ96mm rollers. You can adjust the speed up to 50mm/s based on material requirements.
Step 5: Collection
Finally, the compressed electrode exits the rollers, ready for slitting, stacking, or winding processes. The calendared electrode now has optimized density for improved battery performance.
