Lab Semi-auto Stacking Machine – Z-Type Stacker for Lithium Battery Electrode Assembly

We designed this Lab Semi-auto Stacking Machine specifically for the stacking process of lithium-ion battery electrodes. Unlike manual stacking methods, this equipment delivers high efficiency and precision through its automated Z-type mechanism. Therefore, it is ideal for research, development, and sample production of stacked lithium-ion batteries.

Working Principle:

The machine features a tension roller structure with automatic constant tension control for the rolled separator. First, a motor drives the stacking mechanism left and right to achieve zigzag (Z-type) stacking. During this process, the system precisely layers electrodes and separators. Finally, it repeats this motion until the complete battery cell is assembled. Because you can adjust fixtures, the same machine accommodates various electrode sizes.

Key Features:

  • Z-Type Stacking Design: The reciprocating motion ensures high stacking efficiency and accuracy, making it suitable for stacked lithium-ion batteries.
  • Automatic Tension Control: Constant tension regulation on the separator roll prevents material stretching or wrinkling during feeding.
  • Adjustable Fixtures: You can modify fixtures to accommodate different electrode dimensions (length 58-110mm, width 45-80mm, thickness up to 12mm). Thus, one machine supports multiple cell formats.
  • Programmable Control: A PLC with touch screen interface lets you set stacking parameters, memorize stack quantity, and monitor production.
  • Anti-Stick Shaking Function: The equipment shakes during suction, preventing vacuum cups from picking up multiple electrodes at once.
  • Fault Diagnosis System: In case of malfunction, the machine automatically alarms and displays the problem point. After manual troubleshooting and reset, operation can resume normally.
  • Flexible Gas Compatibility: Operates with argon, nitrogen (for glove box use), or compressed air, adapting to various installation environments.
