Vacuum Standing Box – Multi-Stage Vacuum System for Battery Electrolyte Wetting

We designed this Vacuum Standing Box specifically for pouch cell processing after electrolyte injection. It uses a controlled multi-stage vacuum process to remove air bubbles from the cell while ensuring complete electrolyte penetration. Unlike single-stage systems, this equipment prevents excessive electrolyte loss through its unique trapezoidal vacuuming method.


Working Principle

The upper cavity presses onto the bottom plate to form a sealed chamber. First, the system performs an initial vacuum cycle. Then, it releases the vacuum and allows the cell to rest. Next, it applies a second vacuum to reach -70KPa and holds this level for a programmed period. Finally, it performs a third vacuum cycle reaching -95KPa to thoroughly remove residual air from the cell.

Why three-stage vacuuming?
The trapezoidal vacuuming method prevents a large amount of electrolyte from being pumped out during degassing. Consequently, it allows the electrolyte to penetrate completely into the electrode materials while maintaining proper electrolyte volume in the cell.
